As fans of the Pokémon series, we often celebrate the incredible talent behind the voices that bring our favorite characters to life. Today, we’re excited to feature an interview with the popular voice actor D.C. Douglas, who voices Lysandre in Pokémon Masters.
PFB: Hi D.C.! Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us how you felt when you were cast as Lysandre in Pokémon Masters?
D.C. Douglas (DCD): When I was cast as Lysandre, I was thrilled. Being part of the Pokémon universe is a dream come true for many actors, and Lysandre is such a complex and intriguing character. And a badass. I was happy to bring out his menace.
PFB: Lysandre is a notable antagonist in the Pokémon series. How did you approach voicing a character with such a distinct personality?
DCD: Well, let’s be honest, this is a mobile game with only intermittent dialogue – so it’s almost like you’re voicing the “promo” for the character. You have to convey a strong voice imprint without getting lost in the land of cheese!
PFB: What was the most enjoyable part of voicing Lysandre for you?
DCD: The most enjoyable part was definitely the intensity of his character. Lysandre is driven by his ideals and has a very clear vision, which makes him quite compelling… And utterly deranged.
PFB: How has the response been from the fans regarding your portrayal of Lysandre?
DCD: You know, I didn’t think anyone would care I was in the game at first! But I have been getting fans coming to my table at cons asking for his print. I finally gave in and made one after booking a Pokemon con.
PFB: That’s wonderful to hear! Lastly, is there anything you would like to share with your fans about where they can find more of your work or any upcoming projects?
DCD: Absolutely! Fans can find a special print of Lysandre available in my Streamily store. As for upcoming projects, Wondla will be coming to AppleTV+ in June and Killer Klowns from Outer Space! is coming to Steam June 4th.

Pokémon Masters EX Overview
Plot:
“Pokémon Masters EX” is a mobile game set on the artificial island of Pasio, where Pokémon Trainers from various regions come together to compete in the Pokémon Masters League (PML). The player teams up with famous Trainers and their partner Pokémon from past Pokémon games to form “sync pairs” and participate in battles. The goal is to collect badges and become the champion of the PML by defeating other teams of sync pairs. The game features a storyline where players must thwart the plans of Team Break, a group of villains aiming to disrupt the tournament.

“Pokémon Masters EX” is available on both iOS and Android devices. It can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS devices and the Google Play Store for Android devices.

The game was originally released as “Pokémon Masters” on August 29, 2019. It was later rebranded as “Pokémon Masters EX” in August 2020 to mark the game’s first anniversary and the addition of several new features and updates.
