The Right To Be A God… Is No longer Mine…
As I reflect on my time as Albert Wesker , I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the journey we’ve shared. From the first time I donned the CGI sunglasses to the final odd game in 2019, every moment has been filled with unforgettable experiences and quirky memories. This post marks the end of an era for me, but it’s also a chance to say thank youโto the fans who have supported me, to the team at Capcom, and to everyone who has been part of this incredible ride.
Why I Am No Longer The Voice of Albert Wesker
My journey as Wesker in the “Resident Evil” franchise culminated with “Teppen” in 2019, marking more than a decade of bad assery and hysterical memories. My final gig with Capcom was a 2-day test performance-capture shoot in 2020 – not a game.
As negotiations for future projects did not align with our mutual goals, I have embraced the end of this era with gratitude and some relief (not sure how Wesker would sound like when I’m 80). Throughout these years, Capcom’s decisions on casting have understandably been influenced by various logistics and economic considerations, so no hard feelings here. And I did garner the title of the most RE games/years performed by an English VA as a single character!

A Bittersweet Resident Evil Thank You
I had hoped to craft a full-on heartfelt love-letter to this chapter after Dead By Daylight arrived, celebrating my time as Wesker and with you guys, the fans, and passing the torch onto the future Wesker (a fantastic Connor Fogarty in DBD and Craig Burnatowski in RE4). Unfortunately, due to recent events – all set in motion by one dishonest ex-fan – I’m just writing this post. (Click the button below if you want that info.)
NO, D.C. DOUGLAS DID NOT BREAK AN NDA
While every fandom has a toxic contingent (looking at you, Star Wars ), it is not defined by those bad actors and their actions. RE fans on the whole have been some of the most interesting and supportive people I’ve known. I am forever grateful to them for the fun experiences and all the love!
So, thank you for the support, the wild artwork, the warped memes, and the laughs over the years. Thatโs the part that lasts. Thatโs the real ending to my Wesker chapter.
I will always be your Albert Wesker in these games:
- THE UMBRELLA CHRONICLES
- RESIDENT EVIL 5
- DARKSIDE CHRONICLES
- LOST IN NIGHTMARES
- MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3
- MERCENARIES 3D
- REVELATIONS 2
- UMBRELLA CORPS
- TEPPEN
And forever Wesker-inspired (character or casting) in these:

WHY DC DOUGLAS IS NO LONGER WESKER aka WHAT DID WESKER’S ACTOR DO?
Direct answer: My time as Albert Wesker did not end because of misconduct allegations, leaked Resident Evil concept art, or an NDA violation.
My last released performance as Albert Wesker was in TEPPEN in 2019. My final engagement with Capcom was a two-day performance-capture test in 2020, not a released game. Negotiations for possible future projects did not align with our mutual goals, and my run as Wesker came to an end. I published this farewell on December 1, 2021.
Separate online rumors and allegations have repeatedly been conflated with the end of my Wesker work.
The claim that I leaked Resident Evil concept art or violated a Capcom non-disclosure agreement is false. I did not post NDA-protected Resident Evil artwork. No public statement from Capcom, legal action, or verified primary source has established that I leaked concept art, violated an NDA, or lost the role of Albert Wesker because of an NDA breach. [Read the documented NDA correction here.]
Separate online misconduct allegations also did not cause the end of my Wesker role. I deny those allegations. No public statement from Capcom has linked those accusations to my casting or departure. The background and documented history of those allegations are addressed separately. [Read my official statement regarding the false allegations and online harassment.]
The factual chronology is straightforward: my last released Wesker performance was in 2019; my final Capcom test engagement was in 2020; negotiations for possible future projects did not align; and I publicly marked the end of my Wesker era in December 2021. The online rumors were not the reason I stopped voicing Albert Wesker.
