A Bold & Beautiful Love Letter

A Bold & Beautiful Love Letter

When I moved to Los Angeles at 19, I looked at soap opera acting jobs as beneath me. A few years and a lot of Ramen later, I was willing to sacrifice an inch of my height just to get one day’s worth of work on one.

The main conundrum of my career in the late 80s and early 90s was that I was not nerdy enough looking nor hot enough looking (still working on trying to get that hot stud look going before I qualify for Social Security). So, because of this, it was very rare that I would even get an audition for a soap. But eventually I did and appeared at least once on every one of the shows that shot in Los Angeles.

However, “The Bold and the Beautiful” is a whole other story. While I never landed a recurring or contract role, I did end up doing 24 episodes of the show! Of course, that was over a 20-year period! Lol!

I think it’s safe to say my soap days are now behind me. Not because I became super successful (though there’s no need for Ramen these days), but more so because I shed my clean-cut “dear God, please hire me” look as an actor and embraced my inner hippie.

But I’ll always be grateful to Christy Dooley and Bradley Bell for all the work!

So, realizing that, it’s a perfect time to revisit some of my appearances on the show. Enjoy!
