You’ll probably recognize some of my commercial work from the past 25 years… (and if not, please don’t say anything – I live in a fragile reality). From national campaigns for McDonalds and GEICO to Jack In The Box and Mercedes Benz, my voice does get around… Yup, I voice and tell.
First up – a couple of national commercial campaign highlights. Be sure to check out the other categories in the “select playlist” tab below (because I’m an exhibitionist).

National Commercials: D.C. Douglas

D.C. Douglas, a renowned American voice actor, has made a significant impact in the world of commercial voice-overs. Throughout his career, he has lent his distinctive voice to numerous regional and national commercials for many of the Fortune 500 companies, solidifying his position as one of the most sought-after talents in the industry.

Douglas’ commercial voice-over career has been nothing short of impressive, with his voice becoming synonymous with some of the most recognizable brands in the world. He has been featured in national campaigns for major companies such as Taco Bell, Shoprite, Nespresso, Total Wireless, World of Tanks, and Jeep. His versatility and ability to adapt to various styles and tones have allowed him to effectively convey the message of each brand.

One of the most notable milestones in Douglas’ voice-over career was his stint as a CBS Daytime promo announcer during the summer of 2003. This opportunity proved to be a turning point for the talented actor, as it provided him with the financial means to invest in his own home studio. At a time when having a personal recording setup was rare for most voice artists, Douglas’ foresight and dedication to his craft allowed him to leave his editing job and focus solely on his acting career.

The establishment of his home studio opened up a world of possibilities for Douglas, enabling him to audition for and secure a wide range of commercial voice-over projects. This move not only showcased his commitment to his profession but also demonstrated his adaptability in an ever-evolving industry.

Throughout his career, Douglas has been the voice behind several high-profile national campaigns for major brands. From 2006 to 2008, he was a part of the GEICO “Celebrity” campaign, which featured him alongside other notable personalities such as Little Richard, Don LaFontaine, Joan Rivers, The Pips, Peter Frampton, Mrs. Butterworth, Burt Bacharach, Charo, Mini Me, James Lipton, Peter Graves, and Michael Winslow. His contribution to this campaign helped to elevate the brand’s visibility and establish a connection with consumers through humor and relatability.

In addition to his work with GEICO, Douglas has lent his voice to campaigns for McDonald’s, Radio Shack, Ashley Furniture, United Healthcare, and Hooters. His energetic and engaging delivery in the McDonald’s “Be the Sizzle” campaign perfectly captured the essence of the brand, while his work on the Radio Shack Christmas commercials helped to position the company as a go-to destination for holiday shopping.

Douglas has also collaborated with fellow voice actor Tom Kenny on several spots for Experian, a global information services company. The two talented actors portrayed computers engaging in witty banter, effectively communicating the brand’s message in a memorable and entertaining manner. This campaign showcased Douglas’ ability to work seamlessly with other voice actors and create compelling content that resonates with audiences.

Aside from his work on national campaigns, Douglas has also been a prominent figure in the world of television promos. Since 2018, he has been one of the promo voices for Sony PIX, a popular movie channel in India. His voice has become an integral part of the channel’s identity, helping to promote its programming and engage viewers.

Throughout his commercial voice-over career, Douglas has lent his voice to numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike, Amazon, Microsoft, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, ExxonMobil, Ford Motor Company, and Procter & Gamble. His ability to understand and effectively communicate the unique brand identity of each company has made him an invaluable asset to the advertising industry.

In addition to his commercial work, Douglas has also made a name for himself in the world of animation and video games. He has voiced numerous beloved characters, including Albert Wesker in the “Resident Evil” franchise, Legion in the “Mass Effect” series, and Yoshikage Kira in “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable.”

Douglas’ success in the voice-over industry can be attributed to his versatility, professionalism, and dedication to his craft. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to adapt to various styles, genres, and mediums, making him a valuable asset to any project he is involved in.

As D.C. Douglas continues to lend his voice to commercial projects, animated series, and video games, his impact on the entertainment industry grows. With each performance, he showcases his talent, versatility, and passion for his craft, cementing his status as one of the most respected and sought-after voice actors of his generation.
