2024 On-Camera Adventures

2024 On-Camera Adventures

Emerging from the Pandemic Mindset

It took a few years, but in March 2024, I finally shook off the pandemic dust—literally and figuratively. With a little help from ChatGPT, I revamped my website and rediscovered my passion for on-camera acting. That marked the start of one of my most rewarding years in over a decade!

Inspired by my friend Lisa Long’s kickass on-camera career and supported by a new approach to auditions, I transformed my office into a VO/Film-TV hybrid workspace. A change in representation also helped me see opportunities in a whole new light.

Howdy, Partner.

The summer of 2024 brought me my first Western gig—something I’d been itching to do since growing my hair out! A quick three-day shoot for “Wild West Chronicles” let me channel my inner cowboy, hat and all.

As You Wish…

Next up, Brendan Petrizzo cast me in my 12th Asylum project, a fantasy film that let me showcase my flowing locks. As always with The Asylum, it was a whirlwind shoot, made better by a talented cast and crew.

And then Along Came Reggie

DC Douglas Indie Film

For the first time in my career, I auditioned for a film that could be described as Independent Spirit Awards-level. Think Tarantino-style scenes, equal parts gritty violence and rich character depth. And I landed the role of Reggie.

This project, helmed by the amazing Stephen Romano, is a career highlight. Even if it quietly fades among indie streaming titles, it won’t matter—living inside such a fascinating character was a dream come true. Though I have a hunch this film might make a few waves.

Stephen was a director’s dream—supportive, collaborative, and invested in every detail of the story.

Playing opposite Jonathan Stoddard was an intense and rewarding treat, as well. A humble actor whose personal story is inspiring. Young enough to play my son but experienced enough to teach me a few things about myself.

And Ashton Leigh… Dayum, that woman can act! Our first scene together sent me on a character backstory journey that added a whole other dimension to my performance by the end. A joyful human who I love to debate over a drink!

I only got to work with Brian Villalobos for a few days but, man, he was wonderful! Dangerously quirky on-screen and funny as hell off screen. Yes, this cast is phenomenal.

As was the crew, though I have to give Chloe Cox a shoutout for spending an hour everyday turning me into someone who looked my actual age!

In short, Stephen Romano gifted me the best role of my life. I’ll always be grateful…

Another Kiss Before The Apocalypse…

4 days after wrapping up 3 weeks in Texas I was off to Philadelphia to reunite with my 2013 “Apocalypse Kiss” director, Christian Grillo for another fun indie, “The Intruder.” I stepped out of the complicated Texas menace known as Reggie and stepped into an Elon Musk/Richard Branson fused cameo role.

For those who have an affinity for Albert Wesker, you may wanna check out “Apocalypse Kiss.” It’s pretty remarkable what Christian can do with a limited budget. And he builds his own sets!!!

And now I am booked for another Western role filming in January. That bodes well for my on-camera acting career (version 2.0)… Partner.
