Oops, I Did It Again!
Yes, it’s another fan service video for the Resident Evil fanbase. I had pretty much made up my mind that I was done with these after stepping down as the voice of Albert Wesker in 2019. But, damn, you all keep coming up to me at conventions! So, here we are—an unexpected fan service video that actually started as an AI experiment for myself.
As with any project I start, I tend to get lost in it, and before I know it, I can’t help but finish it and then share it with someone. I’m an actor, after all—I’ll always need an audience. I’m glad you’re here!
Now, I know there will be some who will take issue with the fact that this project includes AI-generated content, and to those folks, I can only offer a cyber hug. I began this project to familiarize myself with the various tools that are now available. I’m all for ensuring that copyright laws and union contracts evolve to protect creatives as these technologies develop. While that conversation is ongoing, these tools are improving every day, so why not have some fun with them during the slowest week of the year?
And wow, this was fun! I will say, though, putting together a cohesive AI-generated video was a challenge. Of course, that’s the reality for someone like me who’s on the cheaper end of the consumer spectrum. Ain’t no way I was gonna shell out $200 for unlimited access to Sora!
As for the inspiration behind this video, it all goes back 12 years ago, when someone suggested I do a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas as Albert Wesker. That comment eventually led to the music video we did, and as I realized that the 12 Days of Christmas video had turned 12 years old, I got a little nostalgic and thought, “Hey! Why not do what that person originally asked me to do?”
Anyway, I hope you have fun watching this, and I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a kick-ass 2025!
